Something strange happened at The Motel at 1:20pm on May 4th, 1961.

There used to be a room 10, but during "The Incident", it was ripped from our reality, along with everything in it. No longer existing in our time and space, nothing remains (including any memory of the room or "The Incident") except for a few Objects.

In our reality, these Objects have strange "powers". Some of them useful, some of them not-so-useful. Here is a list of some of the known Objects and their associated power:

The Key - Opens every door, and takes you to The Lost Room.
The Bus Ticket - When touched to skin, transports the individual to a place just outside Gallup, NM.
The Pen - When the ballpoint touches skin, it immediately microwaves the person from the inside out.
The Pencil - Creates one penny every time the lead is tapped on a solid surface.
The Comb - When used to comb hair, it stops time for 10 seconds, allowing the user to move around.
The Nail File - When shown to a person, puts them to sleep for 30 seconds.
The Deck of Cards - When the joker is shown to someone, they recieve mind-bending hallucinations, temporarily disabling them like a stungun. Also causes lingering hallucinations while asleep.
The Wristwatch - Hard-boils an egg in three minutes when placed inside the band.
The Clock - Sublimates (turns solid directly to gas) manganese (brass).
The Glasses - When worn, prevents combustion within a radius of 20 feet.
The Scissors - Rotates objects in three dimensions.
The Quarter - When swallowed, can bring memories to life.
The (Glass) Eye - Has the power to rend or repair flesh, but you must wear it to use it.

Through the years, these Objects have spread out around the world, and some groups of people, called "Cabals" have attempted to colect all of the Objects. Some claim that if you get all of the Objects back into the room, you will know the mind of God. Some claim you will be able to speak to God. Some claim you will become God. Some groups just want to get all of the Objects locked away safely, never to be used again.

The most important Object, The Key, has been spotted in several locations (sometimes simultaneously) around central Iowa, mostly in the city of Des Moines and it's suburbs. If you can get your hands on The Key, it will take you to The Lost Room. But be careful, you may find some of the other Objects inside the room. Remove them at your own risk. Also, using The Key will attract attention from other "Object Gatherers", who may be willing to hurt or kill you to get their hands on it.

If you find other Objects in the room, it may be that their special power has yet to be discovered. Experiment at your own risk.
