This is the second in a series that deals with Amarillo's darker
side, this cache is placed across from Gebo's Farm & Ranch
Store in a brown coffee can.***Parking is available within 10
feet of the cache on the north side of third street. Please park
parallel to third street facing east. Apparently this can be a very
busy street at times, it wasn't the 3 or 4 times I scouted the
location but please be careful anyway.****
The legend goes that back in the early 1980’s before Gebo’s bought
the property and moved in, the building was a Bonanza Supermarket.
Late one evening as the store was closing an employee that worked
in the meat department was stabbed to death. Shortly after that
event, strange things started happening and the Bonanza Supermarket
soon closed down. Fast forward 20 years, to this day there are
still strange things that happen in this building, store shelves
will rearrange themselves, items that were on a shelf when the
store was locked up will be spilled in the middle of the floor the
next morning. Employees say it is impossible to keep night stockers
because of the things that occur in the late hours. Whether this
story is real, or just a figment of the imagination is yours to
decide please enjoy the cache though.
Please remember these are urban legends so to speak, they may be
true, they may not be. These are meant to be fun stories and
nothing more. They can’t be proven, or can they????????
