Geocache Description:

Placed by Cub Scout Pack 1199, this cache is near a curious pit along a trail in Bastrop State Park, and has a coin theme.

The Roosevelt's Cutoff trail in this beautiful state park is a nice hike that can be great for geocachers on a mission. Roughly halfway along the trail from either end, there are some strange pits along the side of the walking area. We named one The Money Pit. From the nearest parking area, it would be approximately 1.2-1.5 mile round trip.

The container is small and camoflauged, but not in the pit itself. It contains many coins from at least a dozen different countries. It also starts out with two travelling geocoins. When you make the find, please stick with the theme and put in an interesting coin for trade. We would love to see it become a crossroads for travelling coins making their way across the globe.

This cache was placed by Cub Scout Pack 1199 from Sugar Land, Texas on one of their spring campouts, with the help of greenehorn and FlyingLead. This geocache has a permit on file with Ranger Jamie Hackett. Please check into the park headquarters and pay your entry fee before enjoying the caches in the park. Even better, buy yourself a season pass!
