Geocache Description:

Llangattock Cave Entrances: Pwll Y Cwm

A series of caches on the Llangattock escarpment located near some of the major cave system entrances.

This micro cache is located in the Cwm Clydach near Devils Bridge, the Cwm Clydach nature reserve and Pwll y Cwm.

The Cwm Clydach nature reserve is a native beechwood reserve clinging to the side of a deep gorge created by the river Clydach. Home to a great variety of birds, butterfly and fungi.

Pwll y Cwm, located at N51 48.298 W003 08.401, is the major resurgence of waters from Agen Allwedd, Daren Cilau and others caves of the Llangattock Escarpment high above. The pool eventually reaches a depth of 23 metres and connects to the Ogof y Daren Cilau system. The trip into Ogof y Daren Cilau via Pwll y Cwm is a serious 650m long dive, tackled by experienced cave divers.

I would recommend celebrating a find with a pint at the Drum and Monkey N 51 48.373 W003 08.359
