Located off the Fields Pond Road in Orrington. There is a short downhill embankment beside the road then across some slightly uneven field. No bushwacking required. Be careful not to park too close to the top of the hill so that cars coming the other way can see you. Please take the time to carefully conceal the cache before leaving.
Across the road and a short distance away is a large electrical power substation which is undergoing substantial expansion. This is interesting all on its own but is not the reason I brought you here. Inside the cache is a "Surprise Information" sheet which details why I chose this spot. Many local residents will already know this information but most other people will not. Make sure you read the info sheet, it has to do with where you are standing. The cache is a Lock-n-Lock container, not as big as an ammo can, but big enough to hold coins and small TB's. A late-season Nor'easter is due to hit Maine the same day as I placed this cache and it reminded me to make this winter-friendly....it's knee high so that you don't have to dig down through the snow. Can you feel the power yet?
