Mile hike around a pretty suburban lake. Great one for kids; not your usual hide.
This is the final treasure from an archived member-only cache that only two people ever found. It was "Hidden Hills Cemetery to Calaveras Lake Eleven-Part Multicache" and was a five in difficulty but now it is just a hike-and-grab, sorta. Kawikaturn was the FTF.
Taking out the inner lid is tricky. Lift the "handle" two inches and turn in the direction of the arrows until the "slots" line up. Then you can pull the inner lid out of the container. Remember how you did it so you can put it back properly. There are two holes in the wooden bottom that the two pipes must slip into for the inner lid to close. Make sure the metal container doesn't block these two holes before you try to replace the inner lid.
The site is inside an ancient volcano called "the skull". A strangely magical place similar to Devil's Postpile near Mammoth. A pair of redtailed hawks nest above, guarding the cache.
Please print out this page and SING THE FOLLOWING OUT LOUD as you enter the volcano. Don't be shy!
Jimmy Buffett - Volcano Lyrics
Now, I don't know, I don't know where I'm a gonna go
when the volcano blow.
Let me say it now,
I don't know, I don't know where I'm a gonna go
when the volcano blow.
Ground, she movin' under me.
Tidal waves out on the sea.
Sulphur smoke up in the sky.
Pretty soon we learn to fly
[Chorus:]
Let me hear you, now
I don't know, I don't know where I'm a gonna go
when the volcano blow.
Let me hear you now.
I don't know, I don't know where I'm a gonna go
when the volcano blow.
Don't want to land no San Diego.
Don't want to land in no Buzzards Bay.
I don't want to land on no Ayatolla.
I got nothin' more to say.
[Chorus:]
Let me hear you, now
I don't know, I don't know where I'm a gonna go
when the volcano blow.
Let me hear you now.
I don't know, I don't know where I'm a gonna go
when the volcano blow.
