Drum Stone
Natural Stone in Aberdeenshire This feature is an irregularly shaped boulder, 4ft 6ins long and 2ft 8 ins high, set in concrete and surrounded by a circular stone wall with an iron gate. It is inscribed 'Drum Stone/1411/Harlaw'. Information from OS Reviser, 12 December 1955. Traditionally it was at this stone that the Laird of Drum halted his men on their way to the battle of Harlaw, to rest himself or to 'arrange his affairs'.
