Geocache Description:

This cache is located just out side of the remains of the 120th company of the CCC’s. The terrine is very mild with just a few rough spots for walking. Should be an interesting find for you. #1 in a serious of Historical Places.

The CCC 120th company was established in Becket on June 6, 1933.

The CCC’s did a lot of much needed work on October mt. Including road work, building dams, and moth prevention just to name some of the things.
Due to a heavy downpour the company had to pitch there tents in mud and puddles for the night. The finished barracks were completed by October of that year.
Little remains of there camp, witch was the biggest in the area. There are 3 chimneys that are there under the pines, 2 of witch have toppled over. On the back of the remaining chimney initials and a date that can still be seen by the naked eye.The remains of the flagpole ring are still there witch a skider has run over not knowingly. I plan on fixing it up as a remembrance to the men that help our state in a troubled time in our history.
In the third chimney there lives a porky pine. Its perfect for him to hid out during the fowl weather.

The area in the past has been a local hang out for party goers, but I believe they have now moved on.

Please enjoy the area and remember what kind of men helped our forests all over the state and country that we enjoy now. The cache is camouflaged container with one clear side.

There are some neat things inside, a log book to sign, along with some swag. Have fun
