Geocache Description:

A cache situated close to BBC Scotland's legendary Beechgrove Garden

When the clocks change and the temperature rises many people think of gardening. Here in the NE of Scotland there is no garden more famous than the BBC's Beechgrove Garden which has graced our TV screens for the past 25 years. Initially sited at BBC Aberdeen's studios in Beechgrove Terrace (hence the name) in recent years it has moved to the old Brotherfield Nursery near Westhill.

Over the years there have been 12 presenters. Jim McColl and George Barron originally presented the show (anyone else remember Ricki Fulton & Gregor Fisher as George and Jim on Scotch and Wry showing us how to plant our drams) and despite several changes in the line up Jim is still there giving us topical tips about composting, when to plant our tatties or prune our azaleas, or how to spice up these perennial hanging baskets, now ably assisted by Carole, Lesley and Carolyn.

The cache is situated outside the garden on the road which can be quite busy. Unfortunately it is not possible to access the actual garden other than via the virtual tour on the website or by tuning in to the TV program. Nevertheless you may spot an occasional gardener from the cache site.

The cache is a 35mm film canister. Please take your own pen or pencil
