Geocache Description:

The cache 'Castle Meadows' has been moved to its new location as the Warden has planted out the original area with Snakes Head fritillary, and requested it re-located.

Not so much of a Multicache now, enjoy navigating to the cache through the Kinecroft, the Bullcroft and the Castle meadows.

This is now a small to medium sized cache stocked with some of the contents of the original ammo box, and is hidden in part of a Northmoor trust circular walk..well worth strolling around the Castle site. (leaflets at the entrances)..make sure you visit the enclosure close by, where the original cache was..it's so peaceful! This cache is at the end of a pleasant and varied walk through an historic part of Wallingford. Parking at co-ordinates above.
If it has been raining, some parts of the walk can be muddy, so please wear sensible footwear - this cache is NOT wheelchair friendly as there some rough tracks along the way. Please allow up to an hour to complete, and if staying longer in Wallingford, ensure your car parking fees paid are adequate. (generally 70p for 2 Hours..but please check!!)
Along the way there is a childrens playground.

The cache is hidden at N51.36.239, W001.07.143 in a Plastic screw-top container. This area contains tree trunks buried, to encourage Stag Beetles, who love damp, rotting wood….if you do see any please treat them with respect..They are a protected species!!!

The Dymo tag idea is scrapped, so just go straight to the cache.. if you cross the field with cows - the warden advises they are docile!
When you find the cache please be sure to cover it up carefully and as you found it.

Many thanks to Dominic Lamb, Countryside Officer, SODC for allowing me to place the cache in this beautiful place.
