j-bar03: Thanks for everyone who attended and made the day so much fun. Hopefully this will be the first of many Prestonpans-based CITOs.

Geocache Description:

Sunday 29th April 1 – 3 p.m.

Oblitter8 – Prestonpans Annual Spring Clean. Individuals, community groups, schools and businesses are urged to give up just two hours of their time on Sunday 29th April to get to grips with the problem. Anyone wanting to join in can simply turn up on the day at any of the seven meeting points at 1.00 p.m.

Meeting Point for Geocachers will be at the Prestongrange Mining Museum (which is the listed co-ordinates)

There will be tea and coffee for all volunteers, a limited number of spot prizes and goody bags. All volunteers will be entered into a prize draw to win first class travel on the Caledonian Sleeper (courtesty of FirstScotrail)

The spot prizes are: Fat Traps and cleaning products

The contents of the goody bags vary but include ELLI pens, Twinings tea samples, money-off vouchers, Keep Scotland Beautiful badges, soft drink, strawberry Mentos & Eat Natural bars.

Prestongrange Museum is a really nice site. There is a "Life" exhibition in the Power House where you can see what we humans are made of use the models and microscopes to find out what goes on inside our body.

In the Visitor Centre/Cafe there is an exhibition of the industries that once thrived on the site.

Frisbees, swingball, quoits and other outdoor games can be loaned from the Cafe.

I'm afraid that I am not able to place caches for the event, far to busy organising this, but there are caches nearby.

I am sorry for the short notice, but it was the geocachers of the GeoX forum that convinced me to go ahead and advertise the clean up.
