Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Jay Cooke State Park. This is in the same area as a previous cache known as "Overlooking Lost Lake". That cache was archived after the DNR banned caching in state parks. Since the state parks have relaxed their ban on geocaching, I was able to place a cache here again. In June 2012, flooding of the area created some unstable ground and the stone wall the used to stand at the end of the path collapsed. The area is currently marked as hazardous by the DNR, but I'll let you make your own decision. The path is just fine, but please use caution if you go near the edge. The area that the cache is in is sometimes used by teenagers to party in the summer. Please bring a trash bag with in case the partiers have left some garbage behind. My daughter put this cache together so it is kid friendly. Take some time and explore the area. Caches placed in MN State Parks require an approved permit from the park manager before they can be listed. This cache has been approved for listing by the Jay Cooke Park Manager. Thanks to Eunice for helping get me through the application process.
