This cache is located adjacent to Haul Road which is used by US Silica to access their quarries. PLEASE DO NOT TRESPASS ON THIS ROAD!
This cache is placed near US Silica's Haul Road. The sand that results from the crushing of the stone mined here is the purest in the world. Sand from these quarries was used in the making of the Hubble Telescope mirrors. Pittsburgh Glass uses it exclusively for their products.
If you look for this cache during the weekdays, you may see one of the huge US Silica dump trucks passing by. The drivers will wave and honk their huge horns for you too! PLEASE STAY OFF THE ROAD. You can see the attached picture of what these things will do to your poor car if you don't respect them.
The cache is an old grated cheese container with camo tape on it. THERE IS NO NEED TO WALK ON THE ROAD. You actually cannot find it from there anyways. The cache contains a log book, pencil and several trinkets to get things started. Good luck and remember this is not a dangerous or, for that matter, difficult cache to find. Hope you enjoy the sound of the creek nearby. This is one of my favorite spots to relax and reflect.
CONGRATS to emilierene for being the FTF!!!
