What's in a name? In November of 2003 I stumbled upon what was
unknowingly one of the best things to happen in my life; I
discovered geocaching. Fads come and go, people wander in and out
of your life, and hobbies become pastimes, but this thing they call
geocaching has affected me deeply.
Please enter a user name: Legendpilot
"Oh man, this is going to be fun! Finding hidden treasure in the
woods with a GPSr? I'll have to see it to believe it."
If I knew then what I know now, after 653 finds and 68 hides, I
would have done everything..exactly the same.
Sure, there are times when weeks, maybe months go by without a
smiley...and I continue to put many things before geocaching, after
all it is just a hobby, right?
It's also about camaraderie, companionship, time well spent with
family, the exercise, exploring new places, and the friends you
make along the way. Friends that will set an extra place for dinner
when you show up unannounced, make room for you to sleep in their
home when you're too tired to travel, or simply lend you their ear
when you need it; these are the kind of friends that I've made
thanks to geocaching.
Many people have wondered how I got the name Legendpilot. "Are
you a pilot?", I've been asked.."Do you fly
airplanes?..helicopters?"..and "What makes you a legend?" Only a
few people know the right answer, despite what some may
think they know to be correct.
The true answer to this question lies in finding this cache.
Once you've effectively solved the puzzle and found this cache, you
will know for sure...what makes me a legend.
Add the number of letters x10 in the answer to the riddle to
your north coordinates, post decimal. Have fun!
