As with its little brother, Polaris, a cardio-workout awaits you
if you stay entirely on the Blue Howell trail, or you can take the
longer but gentler approach from the west and access via the White
Bobcat Trail. A loop hike using the white Stillman Spring trail for
the return is also an excellent option; do start at the Howell
trail if you can. For the gentler approach please see the waypoints
for Polaris.
Particularly when coming in from the east, do take time out to
visit the "Pitching Point" at N41 25.440 W73 58.804. This point is
only a few hundred feet from a sharp turn in the trail at N41
25.440 W73 58.832. When ascending it's easy to miss the turn so if
you you find yourself at a sheer drop, that's probably where you
are anyway.
You are looking for a large Lock 'n Lock containing Some Things
Pooh and other assorted offerings. FTF gets the Winnie The Pooh
book.
The cache is not camouflaged but may be quite difficult to find
without the clue. Look carefully.
Please take extreme care near the cliff edges as there are some
sheer drops on this trail.
The cache's nickname derives both from the name of the blue
trail and from an appeal in the game of Cricket.
This cache has NYS permit SK-07-03.
