Geocache Description:

At end of berm in south Lake Jessup WA

This is a cache to reward those who want to see one of my favorite remote Florida locations. This is where two drainage creeks formed when this land was drained to grow citrus emptied into a larger drainage. Because the land is now St. Johns land - it is slowly returning to its orginal state. If we have the foresight to save the Black Hammock from development - this will remain a quiet outpost in the middle of a wilderness area, otherwise this area become yet another small patch of green in a sea of zero lot line homes (in other words the like much of the rest of Florida). The best approach is from the west (due west along the berm) - and the parking is at the very north end of Elm St. (and yes there are quite a few caches in the area so it could make for a fun day of geocaches). The reason I have set so many in this area, I ran into some boy scouts a while back geocaching in the area and they were bored and dissapointed in the lack of geocaches. I took it onto myself to make sure groups that come out here would no longer be bored. Pay attention to the terrain rating. Though most of this is pretty easy - there are sections that require some bushwhacking. Area Trail Map at Trail Maps
