Cache placed with permission of the landowner. Don't let the purple
paint fool ya! But PLEASE, enter at the orange gate only. This
cache is named for the proposed new scenic highway that runs
through this area. This route has not been completed as of yet, but
the planning for it dates back to 1985. The proposed route starts
at I-40 and runs through the small community of Wiederkehr Village
and intersects Hwy 186 near St.Mary's Church. The route parallels
an existing highway that is scenic also. While here, you might see
some wildlife. And when you leave the cache, you have a good view
of the mountains to the North. This cache can only be accessed from
a gate at the old railroad grade at Hwy.186. Once you reach the
area you should be able to see a re-claimed coal mine strip pit
that makes a really good lake for fishermen. When I hid this cache
last summer, I rode my bike through waist high grass. I paid dearly
with the biggest case of Arkansas Travel Bugs (CHIGGERS) that any
cacher has ever seen. Yep, they still itch to this day! Parking for
this cache is in one of two places ONLY! WAYPOINTS will be listed
herein. Please be sure to put the cache back in it's hiding spot
exactly like you found it so as to not ruin the challenge for the
next cacher. Please write a little about your experience as our
reward for placing caches. Happy Caching!
