I've looked up at this mountain everyday as I've driven home from
work and kept thinking it needs a cache on top of it. After a
little research, I found out it has a name - Toad Head. Pretty cool
name for a mountain if you ask me! This is 1 of 3 in the "Toad"
series of caches that I placed up there. Be sure to grab the other
two as well:
The key to this one is approach. I found the easiest route up
was Buckley Draw, but there are certainly other ways to get there.
The approach from Toad Head to this one can be a little tricky. Do
NOT attempt a direct route down the cliffs. For a safe
approach from Toad Head, see the hint.
Give yourself plenty of time to find the series of caches
up there. Depending on the shape you're in, it could take you
anywhere from 2-4 hours round trip. Be sure to take plenty of
water. You'll need it due to the strenuousness of the hike.
The cache container only has room for the log and very small
items. Be sure to BYOP for this one.
Don't forget to have fun. Good luck!
