Birthday Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

hutchtables: I've archived this cache as the container appears to have gone missing. Additionally, the access in and out of the location where the cache was originally hidden is now very difficult and potentially dangerous.

Geocache Description:

A traditional cache with a twist. Read main description for details.

The birthday cache is designed as an on going event for people to use as a birthday party with a difference. Cachers please find it and enjoy the wonderful views, fill in the log and leave something for the next birthday person but don't take anything with the exception of trackable items which can be placed and taken a normal. If you wish to use the cache as a birthday event you should contact us so that we can make sure there are goodies in there on the day of your party and then the birthday person gets to take everything from the cache if they want. It designed for kids from ages 10 up who like the bush and exploring.
To get to the cahce area isn't difficult. I suggest you park at the carpark at the end of scout camp road. Don't go past the big yellow Private Road sign. There are many tracks that lead towards the cache, some are quite eroded and others are in much better condition, and are used by mountain bike riders and surfers to get to the beach. When you get near the cache there are some cliffs (5 to 10 metre drop) so be very careful. You will have to work out the best way to get down to where the cache is hidden and it will take a small bit of scrambling. See the hint if you need some assistance. If there has been a lot of rain the cache will not be accessible. Since it was originally placed the vegetation has grown significantly and the final access has become more diffcult but there is also a track that has been formed which makes the way down more obvious. For safety, children should only follow an adult down the final section and not be allowed to lead.

If you find the cache please make sure that you put it back properly and you use a small rock to wedge it in place. The cache can and has rolled out.

Note: A muggle likes this location and has left a small notebook in a ziplock bag here for anyone who visits to sign. Unfortunately some people have written some not very nice things in there and this has led some cachers to think the cache has been trashed by muggles. This is not the case. The cache is quite well hidden and you need to keep looking.

Update - based on the numerous people who think the difficulty and terrain ratings were too high I have dropped them down.
