Geocache Description:


Welcome to Sheppartons most well known sporting ground and the oldest sports ground in Shepparton. This oval is the home of the Shepparton united football club the Demonds the reserve also host cricket, soccer and netball. The park has a little bit of history as well on March the 5th 1954 it was where Queeen Elizabth II was offically welcomed to Shepparton. The park is named after Alfred Deakin, at the old entrance to the grounds is a memorial gate to King George VI erected on the 6th of June 1952. Close by there are picnic tables, BBQ, shady trees and a lovly little play ground so an eye can be kept on any little tackers while the search is on.
