Geocache Description:

Located off a paved trail in a St. Louis County Park. Should be an easy cache to find but may require a little trail blazing to find along with some stealth action to avoid being seen by the day hikers along the trail.

This cache is a hidden rubbermaid type of container located within the boundaries of a rather new county park. I have selected this location in dedication to my father who many years ago (before the park was established) regularly took me to this area for hikes and adventures along the Mississippi River. Part of the adventures always included watching the river boats on the river and walking along the railroad tracks waiting for the big steam locomotives to rush by.

For safety reasons, this cache is located in the park and within proper safety distance from the railroad tracks.

NOTICE: Please be respectful of the posted park hours. If you enter the park after hours you are trespassing. If you are stopped you can be ticketed or arrested and will put the future of geocaching in the parks in jeopardy. 

Special permission to hide caches in St. Louis County parks is NOT needed as long as the Groundspeak rules are followed. "Blanket Permission" has been worked out in advance with the park service. DO NOT CALL THE PARK as they cannot handle the calls. The Groundspeak cache reviewer does need to know exactly how and where the caches are hidden and what type of containers are used. The geocaching liaisons will notify the park service of new caches. Remember NO AMMO BOXES or PVC PIPE caches.
