George Adam Floding Cache Traditional Cache
Grandad Brian: This cache has had a good run. It's location has a good story. I'm no longer physically able to maintain it. Perhaps someone else may want to create a new cache nearby.

Not long ago, the West Virginia Dept of Highways built a nice new bridge across the the Mud River at Blue Sulphur Road. It was named the "George Adam Floding" bridge. I wondered who Mr. Floding was, so I did a Google search and learned a few surprising (to me at least) facts! Here's what I learned about Mr. George Adam Floding:
George Adam Floding was the founder of Blue Sulphur where he constructed the Blue Sulphur Springs Hotel. The Blue Sulphur Springs Hotel held its grand opening on July 4, 1885, during a time when no other development had occurred in the area. The hotel, constructed by Mr. Floding, was a grandly ornate three story structure with a veranda on each floor where persons from as far away as Cincinnati, Ohio, (a faraway place relative to the modes and routes of travel that existed at the time) traveled for pleasure, social life and the perceived health benefits of the sulphur springs. While the old hotel constructed by Mr. Floding no longer exists, the community of Blue Sulphur has blossomed with the development of many housing developments.
The George Adam Floding Cache is on a small hill overlooking his bridge and the land he once developed. You can approach the cache from more than one direction, but the parking coordinates provide the easiest climb.
