I need new tires for my old 1931 Ford.

As I thought about how technology has made great advances in almost everything, I wondered if it would be true for tires. So I began to research tire technology to see if there were some advances that could benefit my 76 year old Model A.

When my Ford was built, the tires were 28x4.75-19 Bias Ply tires. The tire dealer now advises me to use a Radial Ply tire, and to do a little street rod customizing.

Following his advice I should use the following sizes to pimp my cache mobile.

Skinny tires for the front R 6x26916

Wide tires for the rear R 9x18178

If you are interested in old cars, perhaps you could stop by the tire dealer and help me get to the root of this issue. If I’m not there when you come by, just leave a brief note, your name and date.
