As the cache
name suggests, this cache is in the general vicinity of Olive
Springs. I thought that I would place a cache here for the
benefit of a group planning to make a hike through this area
of Nisene Marks soon.
My GPS has really struggled with reception on every one of my
hikes in this area and today was no exception.
When you get near the springs, search for this well-hidden cache
(completely covered by fallen redwood debris) at the base of a
small redwood fairy ring. The redwood ring is literally right next
to the access road and the cache is less than twenty feet from the
road.
Soon after you start off from the Hinckley Fire Road trail head,
the fire road crosses two streams back-to-back just above where the
streams converge. There are no bridges over the streams. In the
winter and spring the streams probably will require wading or
rock-hopping to cross depending upon the amount of water in the
streams, especially the first stream.
After I placed this cache, I was recrossing the bigger stream
using balancing and selective unsubmerged/submerged rock-hopping
when I slipped off of an ill-chosen loose river rock and I fell
right onto my keester, landing "full keester" right into the water!

May you fare better.
Enjoy! And happy caching!
