This was one of two event caches placed for the 16th Amendment Event that was held in Lincoln Parish Park on April 14, 2007. This cache was originally a 4-stage cache. After the event it was changed to a single stage cache and moved to different coordinates in the park and submitted for permanent status.
A series of "children's book" caches has been placed in Lincoln Parish Park. Little Red Riding Hood might have passed this cache going "over the river and through the woods" to Grandmother's house.
Lincoln Parish Park has several picnic areas, a playground, a small lake with a sandy beach and swimming area, and a 1.25 mile paved walking path. The Park also has an RV campground. There are many trails through the piney hills which can be walked or biked. The park boasts ten miles of well maintained mountain bike trails including a lot of intermediate to advanced level trails. XTerra biking events are held at the park each year.
The Park opens at 8 a.m. daily. In the summer months it closes at 8 p.m., and during the winter months it closes at 6 p.m. Admission charge is $1.50 per person.
