Hen House Hideaway II Traditional Cache

Chicken and i
placed our original Hen House Hideaway cache back in 2004 and it
actually survived Hurricane Rita. Unfortunately, the cache still
ended up meeting it's demize in 2006 when it got taken out by
logging crews cleaning up after the storm. Being that this is one
of our favorite places, we just had to put out another cache to
take it's place,,,Hen House Hideaway II!
Wanted this to be an easy one so we'll just tell you right up front
that this is your typical geocache in that all you have to do is
follow your GPSr and find the cache. Ok, we might oughta rephrase
that. The cache itself is indeed easy but we need to also tell you
that a short hike is involved as well. There are two different ways
in and if you pick the right trailhead, your distance will be a
little over one mile rountrip. This is about half of what it would
be if you came in from the other way. Of course we recommend hiking
the entire 1.6 mile trail since the scenery and the prospect of
seeing cool wildlife make the walk well worth it.
As always, be sure to watch your step and keep an eye out for
those wild critters that inhabit the area. Skeeters aren't usually
too bad here but you may want to bring protection just to be on the
safe side. Don't forget that this is in a State Park which requires
a small fee for entry. One last thing, the cache has been placed
with permission from the park with cache permit completed.
We hope that you enjoy our cache,, Good luck!
