While biking down the Summit/Landsburg portion of the Cedar River trail we found this outstanding example of a sedimentary rock formation that was exposed by a Thrust Fault event.
About 248 to 206 millions of years ago, an array of geologic occurrences converged in this area to create the Cascade Mountains as well as the Black Diamond coal beds. This is called the Triassic period. It was at this time that the world-continent of Pangaea existed before breaking apart to form the continents of today.
Congratulations to alciato for FTF!

Difficulty is a 3 because of DIFFICULT satellite reception. Once you find the upthrust formation the clue will help.
