Geocache Description:

This small camo'd lock top container is placed near the highway distance sign showing 8 miles to Carbon, Texas.

We figured that the sign people for TXDOT had a good chuckle while making this sign... CARBON 8 or "carbonate". Oh well, it made us chuckle anyway! We were heading to Carbon to place a cache specifically for the " A Carbon Based Life" Travel Bug. The TB's mission is to travel to locations with "Carbon" in the name so we were determined to help out. One problem though, there are no active caches in Carbon, Texas. What to do??? Yep, we hid a couple! This is the first cache of the two we placed in the Carbon area. When we saw the sign, we just new that it needed a cache nearby! When looking for the cache, the fence line would probably be your best bet. :)
