This unusual formation demonstrates erosion's effects on different
types of rock. Due to the types of rock involved here, the Russell
Fork was able to cut almost vertically downward, leaving the hard
rock caps and steep-walled canyon behind.
In order to receive credit for this earthcache, you need to send
the answers to the following questions to me, via e-mail:
- 1) What are the two types of rock that are described on the
educational sign?
- 2) Which rock type is the upper material?
- 3) Which rock type was more easily eroded?
- 4) According to the sign, what is the elevation of the
Towers?
Also, you will need to post a picture of yourself with your GPSr
(or just your GPSr) with the Towers in the background.
