Geocache Description:

A cammo micro near an impressive Historical site.

Despite the Derbyshire village of Doveholes being voted the Ugliest Village in Britain by Radio 5 Live, there is at least one gem worth seeing - The Bull Ring. Situated just off the A6 in the centre of the village, you will find the cricket pitch & community centre with ample parking. Take the path South - not too far & you can`t miss the imposing Late Neolithic Henge which is the Bull Ring.
Built between 2800 - 2000BC it measures over 90m in diameter & is larger than it`s better known neighbour, Arbor Low. Some people are convinced there used to be standing stones on the monument, but there`s no evidence of this.
The area is popular with dog walkers, there`s cricket & football pitches close, and lastly there`s a school playground approx 300m away, therefore a little stealth may be required. You can treat this as a cache & dash but please take time to discover the Henge.
I have given a terrain rating of 1. The cache is easily accessible from the community centre, however there is a gate to stop traffic going any further. This should not present a problem for wheel chairs as you just go round the gate. If you really struggle, there is another metaled path approach from the South.
