All Crufts champions need to exercise and as any dog owner
knows, dogs never go in a straight line when out and about. The
route to this cache is very similar.
The Prosaic Bit:
This 4.5 kilometre walk round trip will take you through some
very pretty countryside. Bird life abounds along the entire walk
and in the middle section where the walk follows the route of a
small stream, woodpeckers are in evidence and two herons were seen
on the day the cache was placed. Old hedgerows and managed thickets
and copses provide plenty of greenery.
The Practical Bit:
Although a section of the walk is on a metalled access road most
of it is on a track way, that can also used by horses and tractors
so is likely to be muddy in bad weather. Dogs are requested to be
on leads. It is a buggy friendly walk but maybe hard going for
buggy types other than the ‘off roaders’. Main parking for this
walk is at: N52.04.438 W000.19.507 although this only allows for
one car. Additional parking can be found just up the road at
N52.04.391 W000.19.366 and will accommodate a couple more cars. If
parking at the additional parking please note that you will need to
start your walk at the main parking.
The Paper Bit:
