On Sunday, June 24, 2007, at 12 noon in Matamoras' Airport
Park very close to the point where Pike County (PA), Sussex
County (NJ) and Orange County (NY) come together - it's the
Tri-State area's first geocaching event!
Kick off the Summer season with this event. Come out cachers and
families and have a picnic lunch in a nice park. Enjoy the time
with old friends and new friends. We'll have an activity to help
cachers from different areas get to meet each other. And for those
of you who want to 'cache in' on the opportunity, you'll get first
shot at nine new caches, seven of which are within a very
short drive of the event in three different states that will
take you to some of the Tri-State area's nicest spots. Two others
have been placed in a location that should be easily accessible for
some of you as you travel home.
We'll have a large barbecue pit in our pavilion with plenty of
picnic tables. Playground equipment is nearby. And besides the new
caches which will be revealed at the event, there are many others
nearby. FirstMate has a multicache within walking distance of the
event, and I have another cache that's also within a safe walk from
this location.
Please include in your log the food that you can bring to share
(meat for the grill, dish to pass, etc.), and the number of people
coming in your party. Above all, please come, whether you're a new
or experienced cacher!
A limited number of event T-shirts will be available for $10
(cash) each. The event logo is on the front, while the back reads,
"I came. I saw. I cached." Pre-orders
to request a shirt in your size must be received by 10am the
previous day.
