Short 2 part Multi
Back in 1959, there was a group of young rockers touring the Midwest. The tour was known as the Winter Dance Party. Riverside Ballroom in Green Bay was the second to last stop before disaster struck. Buddy Holly, the Big Bopper, & Richie Valens all died in a plane crash in a frozen corn field on their way to their next concert site (Fargo, ND) after leaving Clear Lake IA. Many say that was the day the music died! Several others took the bus instead and as a result remained alive and persued their careers in music. They included Holly's band mates, bassist Waylon Jennings & Tommy Allsop and Dion & The Bellmonts.
There is lots of room to park. Some stealth may be required as WP1 is near a paved trail.
Hope you enjoy the cache... and maybe learned a tidbit of history along the way. Cache on!
Please take some time check out the silhouette of the three who died that fateful day.
