Geocache Description:

A cammo micro next to Buxworth Canal Bain.

Co - ords changed 21/10/09, make sure you have the new ones in your GPSr.
Buxworth Canal Basin was a very busy place during the Industrial Revolution. Limestone from the Peak District quarries arrived via the Peak Tramway. It was then loaded on to barges & taken to Manchester to fuel the Industrial Revolution. Some lime was even kilned in the basins own lime kilns which can be viewed today.
Although you can "cache `n dash" this one, it is worth taking a look around the extensive basin & reading the many information boards dotted around.
Also the local hostelry has good real ale & food.
This can be muggle central at times so I recommend that once you have the cache in hand, it would be prudent to sign the log in the comfort of your car before replacing it.
