Geocache Description:

Cache and dash with a great view!

The small hamlet of Braehead of Lunan sits behind the cliffs at the north end of Lunan Bay. The small cluster of houses are huddled around what we had always assumed to be a war memorial. We have since found that it is a memorial to Lt Col James Blair of the Bengal Army who died at Sea on 18 Aug 1843.

We cant find out any information on James Blair or why he might have had such a large memorial erected for him. If anyone knows anything about this monument could you please let us know

Thanks
