Geocache Description:

Coordinates are very "jumpy" in this area; many have reported "coords are a little off" but everyone seems to come up with something different. Please pay attention to the hint and you will have NO trouble at all!!! Container is a small lock-n-lock container. Contains several small items and a logbook with pen. Please do not "grab" the Germ-Gel, but feel free to use it if you'd like!

The Jones County Center of the NC Cooperative Extension is very important to the local area. Jones County's economy is largely agricultural; major commodities and products include tobacco, cotton, corn, soybeans, timber and swine. Agriculture is the major industry in the county with approximate annual gross income of $58 million. Jones County is ranked as the second most tobacco-dependent in North Carolina and ranks ninth in the nation. Agriculture and agribusiness account for nearly 20 percent of North Carolina's jobs and income, but the industry faces changing technology, world markets, consumer demands and environmental regulations. North Carolina Cooperative Extension's educational programs provide farmers and agribusinesses with the research-based knowledge they need to continue producing a stable, safe and affordable food supply in economically and environmentally sustainable ways. The N.C. Farm Bureau and Farm Futures magazines listed North Carolina as one of the best places to farm in the U.S. The study by Farm Futures Magazine looked at over 3000 counties to decide who was the most profitable. North Carolina ranked high with 21 counties in the top 100 and 5 in the top 10. As for Jones County, we ranked 19th which puts us in the top 20. That's something to be proud of. In addition to the focus on agriculture and food the Cooperative Extension Center also has programs geared towards the community, environment, home & family, and youth programs including 4-H.
