Geocache Description:

SNSpencer & RCGDS Presents - Create-A-Cache & Potluck Event

Located at:  Freedom Park , McClellan Air Base (Near the New Aviation Museum )

Date & Time:  June 9th, 2007 .  11AM – 3:30PM

  • 11AM - Noon – Meet and Greet (Workshop Opens)

  • Noon – 1PM – Lunch

  • 1PM – 2:45PM – Workshop Continues

  • 2:45PM – 3PM – Cache Creations Judging

  • 3PM – Awards, Raffle and Announcements.  (Raffle type TBD but most likely 50/50)

I would like to extend to you an invitation to gather with some of the Sacramento area’s great Geocaching participants.  This potluck lunch will be accompanied by a Create-A-Cache Workshop.  (All of the basic materials will be provided).

Bring your sunscreen, a side dish to share, something for the BBQ and your imagination for cache building.

Create-A-Cache Workshop – And there will be awards!!

I don’t know about you, but I really love finding interesting caches while out on the trails.  There have even been some memorable Lamp Post Micros because they were created to be found in the “out of the ordinary” way.

Here is your opportunity to be really creative and build your own cache to place in the near future.  The kids will love this activity too.  Maybe you have never done it or you have many caches out in the world, we can always search for more.  You may have to opportunity impart some of your “Hide” knowledge to someone else and you will defiantly have the chance to learn something new too.

I will have on hand a load of the basic materials for building a cache including:

Various Containers from tiny to large, Camouflage Materials (Cammo Tape, Spray Paint, etc.), Logbooks, Pens/Pencils, “You Found It” Geocaching explanation forms, glues/epoxy, wire, and lots of other useful Cache building tools.  I will also have some swag to load into your new caches.  I think that the only items that I will not have on hand are some magnets due to their expense.

Feel free to bring some of your own supplies too.  The more to choose from, the better for everyone.  Maybe you have the perfect container but need some pointers on how to make it “Special”.

At the conclusion of the gathering there will be some awards for various aspects of the created caches.  There will be a “Most Creative” category for sure.

See you there!!!
