This cache is located near this clearly visible landmark in typical High Peak moorland terrain, i.e. bleak and invariably windy!
Cache is best approached from a good lay-by @ N 53-20.332 W 001-51.866 following the 'well abused' (by 4WD!)bridleway towards Edale. From the junction a little way up, you'll see a ruined wall with a faint but good path leading to the cache site. Allow about 30 mins from the road to the cache!
Cache is a small 1 litre clip-top tupperware box in a black nylon BBAC bag and contains the usuals. It is hidden 50m SW of the perpetually 'Smoking Castle'. On a clear day there are fantastic views W to Chapel-en-le-Frith and beyond. Cracking sunset spot! Near the chimney you can sometimes hear the rumbles of the 'Soup Dragon' deep below. BEWARE!
