A nice easy cache in an interesting part of central Gladstone.
Over the last year and a half, the top end of Goondoon St has been transformed. Prior to this, the area was declining as businesses moved away toward newer business districts. Empty shops and vacant blocks abounded. The Mayor called for the "Cappuccinoisation" of the area, seeking to transform the area with outdoor/footpath eateries, to blend in with the new community library. Finally after what seemed like an eternity, the revamped area opened.
There is some interesting history incorporated into the streetscape, even to the grating in the roadway. Please take the time to look around, and maybe enjoy a coffee at one of the nearby coffee shops.
The cache itself is a cameod eclipse tin. Rated 1/1, as it is very easily accessable to all. There is no need to walk on or rummage through gardens, or climb up any structures ect.
