Geocache Description:

This is a one stage multi-cache in Forestry Commission Plantation near Wareham Dorset.Walk features an adopted trig pillar .
Length of walk from parking co-ords to final cache site is about 1.25 K .

In 1992 a scheme was launched to 'adopt a trig pillar' whereby anybody could adopt a trig point as long as they maintained it and had the landowners consent which many walking clubs and individuals did. We knew of the scheme but were still intrigued when we saw this trig from below because it is now painted green. This is the first trig we have seen with a plaque on placed there by the adoptee/s

Car parking is available in a large gravel lay-by at N 50° 43.978' W 002° 06.958' (room for about 10 cars)
From there a gravel track leads (around) to the bottom of the hill where the Trig point is.
Or a smaller car park spot is at N 50 43.823 W 002 07.008. From here there is a non gravel path that leads uphill where the Trig point is.

We have given the cache a 3 star rating because "Mrs. Rabbit" gets rather puffed walking up the small path to the trig.(changed to 2.5 11/6/07 as the first few loggers are obviously fitter than Mrs Rabbit")

Cache placed with the knowledge of the Forestry Commission and in accordance with the GAGB Agreement. GAGB Agreement
N.B. as part of this agreement it is not permitted to seek this cache during the hours of darkness.
Please do not leave any edible items

Stage 1 : N 50 43.742 W002 06.720
The number of people named on the plaque = C.
Number of letters in the last persons name = D
Number of letters in the second persons name = A
Number of letters in the word preceeding "it" = B

Final co-ord for cache is at N50 43.AB0 W 002 06.CD3

We suggest easiest route to cache site from trig reach cache site from Trig is to walk back down to wide path and then walk olong wide paths until about 40 paces from cache site ,which is then uphill .

NB Watch out for muggle bikers.Since placing the cache mountain/BMX bikers have gouged what looks like a casual track near to the cache location and above.
The cache is a 2 Ltr Clip lock container housing another .Please replace with one inside the other .
