Bottom of the Top Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

yurtles: This is the second plundering of this cache. Container was stolen and contents strewn around. Too bad, this was a fun introduction to this part of the park. We may try another cache in a different location.

Geocache Description:

"Bottom of the Top" is our name for the area at the base of Pinnacle State Park.

Since the cache was first placed, the Pinnacle State Park has re-blazed many of the trails with different colors. This cache is on the green trail, please check the link below for an up-to-date trail map. The green trail begins at under 1000' elevation and rises to meet the yellow and red trails at about 1410'. The cache is hidden in one of the many obvious niches at the edge of the trail; there's no need to risk climbing up or down any steep slopes except for the trail itself. In this area, our GPS readings were even more approximate than usual, so ignore the given coords when you approach ground zero. We wouldn't want you to take an unplanned trip to the bottom of the top.

The above description was edited 6/01/10.

This cache has been placed with Pinnacle State Park approval, permit #02-09, expiration date 5/5/11.
