Geocache Description:

Located at Brudenell Point on Rte. 319. The reference waypoint is the Roma Monument located East of the buildings on a bluff overlooking Georgetown harbor. Click "Related Web Page" for information on this historical site.

In 1732 Jean Pierre Roma established a French colony and commercial venture at Brudenell Point. This fishing and agricultural center would survive for thirteen years until ravaged by English warships after the fall of Fortress Louisbourg in 1745. The site is being restored and will acquaint visitors with the activities of the early settlers in this beautiful area of Canada’s smallest province. Proceed to the Roma Monument and use the dates on the commemorative plaque to calculate the values of X, Y and Z. X – add the first two digits of the earliest date. Y – add the last two digits of the earliest date. Z – using the latest date divide the last two digits by the second digit. Cache Location - N46 10. XY0 W062 33.6Z2 Checksum N=24, W=26
