Recommend parking as follows:- if travelling from the centre of the village, drive down Carr road. After a short while the road drops then rises quickly on a righthand bend, as you get to the top of this rise the road turns left, at this point take a right turn onto a dirt track, you may park near the bottom of this.
From parking your vehicle you can walk to this cache within 20mins.
1 Litre Cache containing the usual Log Book, Pen & Pencil.
Also - Bella (Tweenie), Necklace, Toy Car, Toy Lorry, New Beginnings Card, "Love Leaflet", Tigger Book, 2 x water bombs (empty), Bart Simpson devil.
This cache is along the Sustrans National Cycle Network 7 (Lochs & Glens - North) - Inverness to Glasgow via Pitlochry, 214miles of which 42 are traffic free.
The woods you walk / cycle through are part of the Carr Plantation. Unfortunately, it has been sold in part for a housing development, which would double the size of Carrbridge. However, at this point it has not begun for a multitude of reasons.
In the mean time as you walk through the woods on your way to Blar Mor, keep an eye out for Deer and Squirrels which you can see often, especially early mornings and evenings. As you reach the edge of the forest at a gate, you have a number of options after going for the cache of course!
1) Go back to the car or
2) Continue across the mor into Deishar Woods, or
3) Circular walk by continuing to follow the main path through Docharn woods then cross the main road into Ellan woods round the back of Landmark and back up Carr Road. (take a map)
