Geocache Description:

A short walk from the car. Be alert for occasional muggles walking the path.

This is the first cache we've hidden. A large ammo container. Lots of good kids stuff (toy cars, yo-yo, fake jewels).

The "byway" is a short dirt trail between Rancho Bernardo and Rancho Penasquitos.
The name was picked because the "byway", if made passable by car (barriers removed and paved), would have been the only non-freeway method to get between Rancho Bernardo and Rancho Penasquitos by car. These communities are less than 100 yards apart for pedestrians using the "byway", but a couple of miles apart by car. The only other way to get from one community to the other by car was a couple mile trip on the freeway. That changed once Bernardo Center Drive connected up with Black Mountain Road (June, 2007), but it's still a couple of miles using that route.

We hope you enjoy the cache!
