Geocache Description:

Cache is a standard ammo can.

The Camillus Forest Unique Area is a 355 acre property located west of Amboy. At the southwest corner of the property is 40 acres of old sugar maple and American beech forest, nearly 200 years old, that is developing old growth characteristics. To get there you can park in a marked lot on Warners Road near Thompson Road. (As of May 2, 2008, this parking lot has been closed. You can either park in front of the barricade or in the parking lot on Thompson Road). A main trail from the parking lot will take you through through old field areas to get up to the cache area, but it is muddy at times and uphill most of the way to the cache. The trail loops around in the woods and is a total of two miles from the parking lot.

The understory was filled with wildflowers when I placed this cache at the end of April. Please try to stay on the trail as much as possible. The trail loops around in the woods, but is easy to walk on and the views are worth it. Near the cache is an old tractor. Take a look.
