Geocache Description:

Geo Caching event, new caches plus existing. Come out learn something and meet new friends.

Middle Creek Search and Rescue (www.midsar.org) and the US Army Corp of engineers will be co-hosting a day of Geocaching.

June 30th We will start at 8am and run until atleast 3pm. Food will not be provided, there is a concession stand and many grilling areas for your use.

The posted coordinates are for reference only, see below!

We will be placing several boxes for this event only. We will also have a compass game set up to help everyone improve their compass skills. We have 14 boxes placed just for this event. Some are in the day use, an easy walk and hike from the pavilion area, others will require a short drive and a nice hike.

Through out the day we will be doing some search and rescue demonstrations, including a child is lost and dog demonstrations.

More details to come as they are finalized but save the date!!!

SPECIFIC DETAILS AS OF 5/5/07

Pavilion is located at N40 23.241, W76 02.2888. This is an absolutely wonderful location. Turn left immediately after the guard house and head towards the water. There is plenty of open space, charcoal grills if you want to use them and access to the entire day use area (swimming etc). There is a charge of $3 per car to get to the day use area, if you keep your receipt you will only need to pay once.

In addition to the caches we are supplying for this event (the count continues to go up) we will be providing the following events:

1. Compass game 9am to 3pm

2. Search dog demonstration 10am

3. Trail courtesy training noon

4 A child is lost (guide for children on what to do if they get lost) 2pm

Blue marsh includes miles of trails some combination other just for walking. inside the day use area is an orientering course that is set up for both compass and GPS use. Make sure you plan on taking advantage of all the area has to offer.

This event is a BYOE. Bring your own everything. We will not have any compasses nor GPSers available for general use. Though there are a few compasses in one of the caches as a finders prize.
