Middle Creek Search and Rescue (www.midsar.org) and the US Army
Corp of engineers will be co-hosting a day of Geocaching.
June 30th We will start at 8am and run until atleast 3pm. Food
will not be provided, there is a concession stand and many grilling
areas for your use.

We will be placing several boxes for this event only. We will
also have a compass game set up to help everyone improve their
compass skills. We have 14 boxes placed just for this event. Some
are in the day use, an easy walk and hike from the pavilion area,
others will require a short drive and a nice hike.
Through out the day we will be doing some search and rescue
demonstrations, including a child is lost and dog
demonstrations.

SPECIFIC DETAILS AS OF 5/5/07
Pavilion is located at N40 23.241, W76 02.2888. This is an
absolutely wonderful location. Turn left immediately after the
guard house and head towards the water. There is plenty of open
space, charcoal grills if you want to use them and access to the
entire day use area (swimming etc). There is a charge of $3 per car
to get to the day use area, if you keep your receipt you will only
need to pay once.
In addition to the caches we are supplying for this event (the
count continues to go up) we will be providing the following
events:
1. Compass game 9am to 3pm
2. Search dog demonstration 10am
3. Trail courtesy training noon
4 A child is lost (guide for children on what to do if they get
lost) 2pm
Blue marsh includes miles of trails some combination other just
for walking. inside the day use area is an orientering course that
is set up for both compass and GPS use. Make sure you plan on
taking advantage of all the area has to offer.
This event is a BYOE. Bring your own everything. We will not
have any compasses nor GPSers available for general use. Though
there are a few compasses in one of the caches as a finders
prize.
