Geocache Description:

Recommend parking at the Westend of the bridge (Boat Of Garten side) where there is a small layby, please don't park on the bridge it self!

Cache is a film canister with a Pencil and small Log, so take a pen or pencil with you just in case.

Boat of Garten "The Osprey Village" this comes from the presence of the Abernethy Forest RSPB Reserve on the shores of Loch Garten, just to the east of the Spey. After being driven to near extinction, a pair of Ospreys reappeared at Loch Garten in 1954 and the area has since become the focus of a population across the Highlands of up to 300 birds.
This peaceful Highland village, is set amongst heather clad hills and native woodland with abundant wildlife and magnificent scenery. It is well worth exploring, with plenty to do and see within the village and the surrounding area.

The Sustrans National Cycle Network 7 (Lochs & Glens - North) - Inverness to Glasgow via Pitlochry runs through here also.

The road bridge which crosses the River Spey, replaced an old wooden bridge in 1974, which in turn had replaced a chain fed ferry.
This bridge is used by many folk on quiet evenings or mornings watching the Otters play in the river or on the bank.
