This is a really Goodwin (4x4 preferred) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

NE4ME: Sorry guys...the land developers keep bulldozing my caches everywhere and million dollar houses or multimillion-dollar churches keep taking on their coordinates. I feel as if there is nowhere left to 4x4. Hopefully, I will find some new locations that will be less likely to fall prey to the land developers that have caused me much headache with my caches. Geocache Description:

Getting there is most of the fun!

You can drive right up within about 40 ft of the cache or you can walk up, either way. There is a steep section near the top on the most direct path, but nothing extreme and can be avoided if the right path is taken. If you decide to hike up, some footwear with good traction would be a plus on one route. Excellent view from this location in the Charleston community. It's an enjoyable and scenic country drive to this spot. If you go while the ground is wet, you might wish for some good boots or 4x4 when you get within 200 yards of the cache. There is no reason to hike any more than 200 yards to the cache unless you want an easier hike, but it will be a bit longer. Have fun and enjoy the hunt. Stocked with a paper log, pen, some matches, super glue, and other small goodies in an approximately 4"x6"x4" plastic container. Be sure and drop some bugs/coins here if you have any! Take a look around the area and check out some of the scenery, bring a camera, and post some pics if you can, especially of you and your vehicle at the top near the cache. I have a clean 99 Jeep Cherokee (pictured) and it's been to within 30 ft of the cache location many times with my kids by ourselves, so don't let the 1st section of the trail scare you away. One tip on coming down....it may seem un-natural to some, but straddle the rut and you will be absolutely fine....Enjoy the hunt and hone your driving skills at the same time....NE4ME

Well, we lost our view due to more land development. Caches in the country are going to be a thing of the past unless the land is unsuitable for building. This cache will not have the view that it once had, but again it WILL have a drive that you will probably want 4x4 to access, or of course you can just hike in the last 100 yards or so. You may even lift a tire at one particular spot if you decide to tackle the last 100 yards. Again, a stock Jeep Cherokee makes it to this location regularly and pretty much any other 4x4 should too. Nice place to come for a little 4x4ing and to find this cache. Cache has now been camoflaged and is relatively easily found. GPS accuracy is not as good as it was on the previous hilltop location so I still got about 13 ft accuracy. Be sure and take some pictures of yourselves and your 4x4 if applicable while enroute to the cache and at the cache if you can. Enjoy the trip...NE4ME
