Súradnice vás dovedú do blízkosti a neskôr aj do areálu rímskokatolíckeho kostola Povýšenia sv. kríža v Petržalke. Tento kostol bol do r. 1995 jediným kostolom v Petržalke vôbec. Bol postavený v rokoch 1930-1932, vysvätený v . r 1932, tesne pred zbúraním starého barokového kostola na inom mieste Petržalky. A cím je tento kostol ešte zaujímavý...?
Moderným dizajnom. Napriek tomu, že bol postavený pred viac ako 70, rokmi urcite znesie porovnanie s dnešnými futuristickými-modernými kostolmi. Autorom projektu je prof. Vladimír Karfík (26. októbra 1901 - 6. júna 1996), len v Bratislave autor projektov obchodných budov Bata (dnes Alizé), administratívnej budovy fabriky Dynamit Nobel, starej budovy Farmaceutickej fakulty a budovy terajšej Fakulty chemickej a potravinárskej technológie STU. Karfík navrhol a realizoval projekty velkého poctu továrenských, obchodných, výstavných, školských a obytných budov v Zlíne, Brne, Liberci, Olomouci, Pieštanoch, Amsterdame a samozrejme Batovanoch-Partizánskom, kde stojí druhý Karfíkov kostol.
Zaradenie tohto kostola do architektonického štýlu je jednoznacné-ide o cistú ukážku funkcionalistickej architektúry, teda architektúry, kde každý prvok má praktické využitie a žiadny iný tam jednoducho nieje. Ozdobné prvky sú bud úplne vynechané alebo ako ozdoba slúži nieco, co má aj podstatnejšiu funkciu. (Porovnajte s ostatnými Modernými kostolamiJ)
Kedže casy sa menia kostol už nestojí v dedinskej zástavbe (predstavte si, ako v nej asi pôsobil...!), ale v mini pozostatku starej Petržalky uprostred novodobých Dvorov VI a najnovšie na Petržalskom korze.

Plastika Ježiša Krista bola osadená na pocest návštevy pápeža Jána Pavla II v Petržalke (12.9.2004). Miniatúru tejto sochy dostal pápež do daru od vtedajšieho starostu Petržalky na pamiatku tejto návštevy. Plastika je osadená na C mramorových stlpoch. Žiaľ, zostali tu len tie stĺpy...

Vojdite do areálu kostola. Pocet okienok na fasáde vo vodorovných radoch je D, pocet okienok vo zvislých radoch je E. Pocet schodov vedúcich do kostola je F.

The coordinates will lead you to roman-catholic Elevation of the Holy Cross Church in Petržalka. Until 1995, this church was the only one in the whole Petržalka village and housing estate. It was built between 1930-1932 and consecrated in 1932, just before demolition of the old baroque church in another place in Petržalka.
Besides these historical facts, the church is unique in its modern design. Altought it was built more than 70 years ago, it bears comparison with today´ s modern futuristic churches. The author of this project is prof. Vladimír Karfík (26.10.1901-6.6.1996), the creator of Bata shoping centre (Alizé today), office building of Dynamit-Nobel Factory, Faculty of Pharmacy old building and Faculty of food and chemistry technology only in Bratislava. Outside the city, Karfik is the author of projects of lots of factory, administration, exhibition, school buildings and lots of dwelling-buildings in Zlín, Brno, Liberec and Olomouc (Czech Republic today), Amsterdam-Netherlands, Pieštany-the spa city in Slovakia and of course Partizánske (former name was Batovany, Bata´s town), where another church by Karfik stands.
The architecture style of this church is functionalism-every each part of the building has first its practical role, just then fullfils decoration role. None decorative-only parts are present. Just compare with the other modern churchesJ
As time passes, the church, which was built into the largest village in former Czechoslovakia, is now situated in a small village-remain in the centre of housing estate. Lately, Petržalka walk was built along the church area.
