A easy cache along the Missouri River at the Beaver Creek fishing access area.
Another in the series of caches at fish access sites. This cache will take you on a nice hike along the Missouri River. The Hike begins at Hauser Dam, a popular fishing area. To reach the trail you will need to cross the dam, after crossing the dam head left up a small hill to the beginning of the trail at the end of the fence. Trail is marked with a forest service sign. Total round trip will be 3.5 miles, be sure to take a fishing pole. Beaver Creek is at the end of the trail. You can pick up two other caches on the way to this one. You can drive to the fishing access, but why waste the gas. It will take you just as long to hike to the cache as it would to take the long drive to the cache. If you wish to drive to the Beaver Creek fishing access and avoid the hike, or if the dam is closed for National Security you can find driving waypoints and parking locations on the Cache Across America-Montana listing (GC1272W). During the spring spawning you can see many trout from the bridge (counted 65 the other day), but check the fishing regulations as the creek is only open for fishing for part of the year.
